HBsAg Blood Test Analyzer

Enter your Hepatitis B Surface Antigen (HBsAg) test result to understand what it means.

What is HBsAg?

HBsAg stands for Hepatitis B Surface Antigen. It's a protein on the surface of the Hepatitis B virus. A blood test for HBsAg is done to see if you are infected with the Hepatitis B virus. It's the earliest indicator of an acute Hepatitis B infection and can also be present in chronic cases.

Understanding Your Results

Negative (Non-Reactive)

A negative or non-reactive result is normal. It means no Hepatitis B surface antigen was found in your blood. This usually indicates that you are not currently infected with the Hepatitis B virus. However, it doesn't provide information about past infection or immunity.

Positive (Reactive)

A positive or reactive result means that Hepatitis B surface antigen was detected in your blood. This indicates you have an active Hepatitis B infection, which could be acute (new) or chronic (long-term). Further tests are usually needed to determine the status of the infection.
